Originally called English Apocalypse, the film’s final title is derived from a 17th Century alchemical text that used the phrase as a synonym for the philosopher’s stone – the highly sought substance that turns base metals into gold and silver. The film was intended as a step toward the idea of an ambient video, that like its musical counterpart, was designed to enhance an environment.

Rather than being outcaste for her abilities, she is valued by a group of science-oriented men, who also manage to record on a sneezed-into-existence phonograph the sound which is later to be added to the film by its "discoverers."

The Off-Broadway production of Sirota’s FRANKENSTEIN opened in 2017 and ran for nearly 3 years in the NYC theatre district at St. Luke’s Theatre, where it achieved acclaim. That production was re-staged especially for film in what is an exciting new hybrid between a recorded version of a stage performance and a movie musical.
