Lalchand (Kader Khan) is arrested by Inspector Verma (Vinod Mehra) and vows to avenge this. He does so by abducting his only son, and later informing Verma that he has killed his son, in the process of apprehending Lalchand, Havaldar Bhagwan Singh (Dharmendra) is killed by saving Verma's life. Verma and his wife Shanti (Anjana Mumtaz) bring up Bhagwan's son, Ajay, as their own. Years later Ajay (Sunny Deol) has grown up to be a police inspector as well, Verma is now the Commissioner. Together they band together to stop Lalchand, who is now a crimelord of international standards, from carrying on terrorist activity in the country; and also try and locate Verma's son, who they find out is still alive, but leads a life of crime

In this drama, an immigrant barber becomes a US citizen and works hard to uphold his ideals of personal freedom and rights. He is a total supporter of the system, and when he is held-up, decides to reform the criminal by feeding him and finding him work. Later, a local politician attempts to tell people how to vote, but the barber is not swayed and becomes an example to others in his neighborhood.

Plainclothes Police Inspector Amar has been assigned the task of apprehending an elusive criminal don who goes under the name of Hardayal. During his investigation, he meets with fellow Inspector Chhaya, and both fall in love. During this investigation, Chhaya finds out that Amar has been two-timing her, and there is confrontation between the two. Amar also goes beyond the call of duty, and is subsequently suspended. The Bombay-based Verma family consists of two brothers, Ajay, and Vijay. Not quite as memorable as his previous Riders in the Sky, Gene Autry's Sons of New Mexico is still well up to the star's standard. This time, Gene tries to reform Randy Pryor, a would-be juvenile delinquent, played by Autry-protégé Dick Jones (who later starred in the Autry-produced TV series Range Rider and Buffalo Bill Jr). To this end, Pryor is enrolled at the New Mexico Military Institute, where much of this film was lensed. The kid chafes at the school's regimen and escapes, heading back to his criminal mentor Pat Feeney (Robert Armstrong).
