Born without any knowledge of his parentage, Mahesh drives a bicycle rickshaw for a living in a town in India, prays to Bhagwan Shri Kishan, and lives in an unhealthy shanty hut. He is friendly with Sheela, who works as a maidservant, hopes to marry her someday, much to the chagrin of Kalu Dada, who lusts after Sheela. One night while returning home he comes across an abandoned male baby near Bhagwan Shri Ganesh's Mandir. He looks for the family of this child, asks for help from the Mandir's Poojary, as well as a Mullah and a Hawaldar, all in vain. When he tries to abandon the child, he is literally forced to adopt him, and when he does so, he faces considerable opposition from his neighbors, and ends up hating the child.

The film is based around a middle-class man, Rajesh (Raj) living with his sister. He is in love with a young woman, and he intends to marry her once he has found a potential husband to take care of his sister. However, one day the sister is raped and murdered and the police are unable to find any clues and it is left to Rajesh to find the murderers and avenge her death. He traces the murderer and kills him, and is therefore now on the run from the police himself. Rajesh abducts a child as a hostage and seeks refuge in a house only to later learn that the child is the son of his former lover, who is now married to a Police Inspector. Rajesh is torn in two - whether to release the child, or to use him to make an escape.

Years later Vikram finds out she is alive and kills her, as well the Poojary and the Poojary's son. Bhola witnesses this, manages to escape, starts to live with a poor widow, grows up uneducated, and makes a living through crime.

Daredevil Circus trapeze artistes, Vijay and Radha, who also goes by the name of Lisa, are in love with each other. The circus is run by Radha's dad, G.D. Sapru. One day they decide to do another daredevil act without any safety net support to break their fall. As a result, Radha misses Vijay and falls down to the ground, is seriously wounded, and hospitalized. After she recovers, she is told that her face has been completely disfigured. She decides not to show her face to Vijay and goes abroad forever. Then Vijay is approached by a group of Hindu priests who want him to locate two statues of Bhagwan Shri Kishan and Devi Maa Radha through the treacherous and mountainous region between India and Burma. Vijay agrees to do so and accompanied by Mangu, Changu, Sandoz, they set out on their journey.

After giving birth to Bhagwan Shri Kartiyeke, Devi Maa Parvati forms a child-human image from clay, adopts him, and asks him to guard the house and not let anyone in while she bathes. The child refuses to let anyone in, including Bhagwan Shivji himself, who beheads him. When a tearful Parvatiji pleads, Shivji brings the child back to life with the head of an elephant, and names him Gajanand, and assures him that no one will make fun of him.

In dire financial straits, businessman John Baird considers liquidating the bonds that are held in trust for his little daughter Margery. Two unforeseen problems meant that many fans consider this the weakest Christmas special. Firstly, Talbot Rothwell became ill whilst writing the script, and was unable to finish it. Dave Freeman had to be brought in to complete the script, but the two men did not work together. As a result, the script does not flow as easily as the earlier offerings. Secondly, Charles Hawtrey pulled out of the special at short notice. Having taken third billing to Sid James and Terry Scott in the previous two shows, and knowing they would both be absent, Hawtrey demanded top billing. But Carry On producer Peter Rogers refused, giving top billing to Hattie Jacques instead. Hawtrey's role had hastily to be recast, and was split between Norman Rossington and Brian Oulton, both of whom had played cameo roles in several Carry On films. The special featured a collection of historical sketches, loosely linked around an 18th-century banquet.

Based on a novel written by legendary Marathi writer Shri. Jaywant Dalvi, Kaccha Limbu is set in the 80's. Mr. Katdare and his wife Shaileja live with their mentally unstable son. While Mr. Katdare works perpetual night shifts at the telegraph office, Shaileja works for a private firm. Their son, Bacchu, is now 16 years old and his growing age and sexuality are a cause of concern for this couple, especially Shaileja. Mr. Katdare tries to find the solution for his problems in death, while Shaileja, in her quest for happiness, finds herself drifting towards her benign boss Mr. Pandit. How this couple, who is on the verge of getting lost in the quagmire of their circumstances, fight their way back to sanity and togetherness is a heart warming story of this film, Kaccha Limbu, which is a term used on the Indian playgrounds to signify the underdog.

After the passing away of her father, a local physician, Aarti takes it upon herself to dispense medicine, as well as sew clothes, and looks after a child named Kundan who has lost his legs to paralysis. Colonel John Wister, on duty with the British army in the desert region of Dubik, returns to England on leave. Indira does not appreciate this and refuses to marry Ramesh. Raj speaks of his love with Rani, and Rani warns him that Indira is to marry Ramesh, but also has an on-going affair with his brother Kundan. Who does Indira really love? Will she ever marry her dream man?

As Diana Barry is preparing to leave New York to marry inventor Tommy Mason she is offered financial assistance from her ex-lover Dick Kent, who still has a thing for her. Refusing she heads to Sparta, where she informs Tommy of her affair with the older man. Tommy tells her that he doesn't want to know the man's name or any details and Diana is happy to forget the past and move on. This decision comes to bite them a year later though, when Kent returns into the picture.
