The film stars Seishiro Kato as Rantaro who is sent to a ninja training school by his parents. During the summer, their teacher is invaded by a group of rival ninjas culminating in a race to ring a bell on top of a mountain.

A serial-murderer is on the loose who just so happens to also be removing the hearts of his victims and taking them with him. His victims however, are not merely random humans as thought by the police. The media and the public look at Noriko and her boyfriend Tsukada with suspicion, but they have perfect alibis. Then, Detective Hibiki, who is in charge of the case, and Private Detective Kono become involved in a series of mysterious murder cases.

Chigusa and Yuuto always spent time together as children. They enter high school at the same time and happen to be put into the same class. Yuuto's mother ran off and his father is an alcoholic, so it seems as though the only time he can feel any relief from the pain of his life is when he spends time with Chii-chan and can be reminded of the happy little moments from his past.
