Movie Documentary TV Movie History
Grupo de Bagé was an artistic movement that emerged in Rio Grande do Sul in the 1940s, led by painters and engravers Glênio Bianchetti, Glauco Rodrigues, Carlos Scliar and Danúbio Gonçalves. Linked to Taller de Gráfica Popular do México and the Communist Party, they turned printmaking into a way of popularizing art, with realistic themes and social denunciation. The documentary reveals the appropriation of these artists of the brazilian arts, from the pampas in Rio Grande do Sul to the palaces of Brasília.

Eternamente Pagu is a biographical film about Patrícia Galvão, best known as Pagu, a Brazilian political, literary and artistic activist. An important figure of the Brazilian Modernism, Pagu was also a militant for the Brazilian Communist Party after she married writer Oswald de Andrade. She broke up with Andrade and, as a journalist was arrested by the Dictatorship of Getúlio Vargas. After she left prison, she abandoned Communism in favor of Trotskyist Socialism, married Geraldo Ferraz, and started a career as theatre director.

Time and the Wind
Based on Érico Verissimo's literary trilogy, The Time and the Wind follows 150 years of the Terra Cambará family and their opponents, the Amaral family. The film also features the period of formation of the state of Rio Grande do Sul and the dispute of territory between the Portuguese and Spanish crowns.

The country is on the verge of a civil war, following the resignation of president Jânio Quadros and the movement to keep vice-president João Goulart from taking office. Using the radio transmitter from his improvised bunker, Brizola sets up the Legality movement, to ensure Goulart's right to the presidential chair. Caught in the crossfire, two brothers who are in love with the same woman unite to fight alongside Brizola.

Carnaval no Fogo

Meanwhile, the director Ricardo is preparing a show for the carnival in the hotel with Marina, and they love each other. The janitor Serafim receives a letter from his unknown American brother, who will come to Rio to spend the carnival and meet him, and asks Eliana for a chance in the show, since his brother believes he is an artist. When Ricardo finds the cigarette case lost by Anjo in the entrance of the hotel, he is misidentified by the thieves, and this is the beginning of lots of confusion and fun.
