Poori (Daisy Irani) does not know who his parents are, and has been looking high and low to get back to them. This creates complications in Sundararajan’s life and ruins his plans of marrying his lover Latha (Savithri). Naan Avanillai (English: I'm not him) (2007) is a Tamil film directed by Selva. It is a remake of K. Balachander's classic of the same title, starring matinee idol Gemini Ganesan, which was a remake of 1962 Marathi language film To Mee Navhech (English: I Am Not Him), written by Pralhad K. Nirmala (Padmini) is a poor but talented young dancer who falls in love with a rich man's son Sekar (Gemini Ganesan), but he is forced to marry a rich man's daughter Prathiba (Tambaram Lalitha). Sekar meets Nirmala, who is on the verge of committing suicide, and they are reunited.
