Oliver Beresford is a stern, Puritanical, and uncompromisingly rigid father. They defeat the Indians after a desperate battle. The Rev. Cole, who has been mortally wounded, begs Priscilla's forgiveness and the Puritans make amends for their harsh treatment of her.
