Prem Geet 2, a sequel to 2016's Prem Geet, is a musical and tells the story of Prem and Geet, its two protagonists, and their journey from Burma to Martha, a rural village in Mugu, Nepal.

They journey from the cloistered world of the high mountains of Nepal, to the faraway cities of sin, to find the elusive Mr. Tashi.

We are in the year 2001, a temporary ceasefire brings a much-needed break to a small war-torn village in Northern Nepal, bringing much joy among the residents. Prakash and Kiran, two young close friends, are also starting to feel the change in the air. Though they are divided by caste and social creed, they remain inseparable, and start raising a hen given to Prakash by his sister, with hopes to save money by selling her eggs. However, the hen goes missing. To find it, they embark on a journey, innocently unaware of the tyranny brought by the fragile ceasefire.

The power in a small rural Nepalese village with a strong maternal tradition revolves around Chinmaya. The entire village is busy preparing for wedding of her son when the groom's ex-lover, Suntali, shows up with a mean-looking man. Chinmaya is annoyed that the village men are intrigued by the beautiful Suntali, who has returned to take revenge on Chinmaya for banishing her from the village in the past. Chinmaya suspects Suntali's vengeful intentions, which the younger woman slowly puts into practice, and devices a scheme to get rid of her.

But their fake marriage creates problems and ultimately they are separated from each other. Both try to convince their parents, but fails. What will happen next? Will Prem and Geet be together? Or choose the path no one wants?
