Diwan and Bhagail Singh kill Kanwar for his property. In the confusion that follows Kanwar's wife Laajvanti and her sons, Shankar and Ravi are separated. Shankar drifts around in search of his mother and Ravi. Ravi works for Diwan and loves his daughter Reeta. Shankar and Ravi are friends. Oonche Log (Hindi: ऊँचे लोग, lit. High Society People) was a 1965 Hindi film directed by Phani Majumdar. It was based on play Major Chandrakant by noted Tamil film director-screenwriter, K. Balachander. The main character roles of this film were played by Ashok Kumar, Raaj Kumar and Feroz Khan. Its lyrics were composed by Majrooh Sultanpuri and the music was given by Chitragupta. The film was shot at Vauhini Studios, Chennai, was also noted as first big hit of newcomer Feroz Khan, who was noted for his sensitive performance against veterans like Raaj Kumar and Ashok Kumar. At the 13th National Film Awards it won the award for Second Best Feature Film in Hindi. It was later remade by K. Balachander himself as Major Chandrakanth (1966), starring J. Jayalalitha and Muthuraman.

Asha's three beaus also contact her one by one that they will be coming, with their respective wives and families to tow, to visit Mauritius. Asha's past is now coming back to haunt her, and Asha must use all her wits to see herself through this crisis.

Naresh Kumar Saxena lives with his widowed mom and sister, Seema. He works as a freelance photographer and journalist. One day he meets with Mala Mehta and her dad, who is the Editor of a Newspaper. Mr. Mehta hires Naresh and assigns him to go to a remote island to investigate and expose some illegal activities there. Naresh goes there in the company of his friend, Shyam. Unfortunately, Naresh is caught by the island guards and lodged in a cell along with two others, one a scientist and Ram Singh, a hoodlum. The scientist confides in Naresh that he has invented an atomic ring that when inserted in someone's mouth will turn that person invisible, and subsequently passes away. Naresh puts the ring in his mouth, takes off his clothes, turns invisible and escapes.

A college professor agrees to teach the son of a gangster and becomes a pawn in a deadly game.

Brash, outspoken, and aethiest Shanker lives in a small village with his son, Mohan, and his devout wife, Durga, who is expecting another child soon. Mohan and Shanker want a bigger stake in the share, which Keshav agrees to, but arranges for Shanker to get killed, and blames it on Ajay. When Shanker is killed, Mohan swears to avenge his father's death and begins the trek of locating and killing Ajay.

A crime leads to the long separation of two brothers whose life end up very different

Delhi-based Kamla lives a wealthy lifestyle along with her widower dad, Dindayal, and is a popular stage singer and dancer. She goes for a holiday in scenic Kulu, meets with flute-player and singer Sarju, and both fall in love with each other and both decide to get married. Kamla returns home and convinces her employer, Kunver Shamsher Singh, to let Sarju also sing on stage. Shortly thereafter Sarju and his sister, Janki, move in with them. Sarju is given a new look and name, Suraj Kumar, and soon Kamla and Suraj become a popular stage and singing pair. Kamla arranges for Janki's marriage with Agra-based Ashok, while her dad also finalizes her very own marriage with Suraj on the same day. On the way back from Agra, Suraj's has an accident, he does survive but is grievously injured. After he recuperates he finds he cannot speak due to a brain blood clot. Janki's marriage takes place and she re-locates to Agra.

As far as he can remember Harinarain Singh alias Hariya has no knowledge of his birth, parents nor of a family home. During a skirmish with some of Thakur Balram Singh's hoodlums, he lies unconscious at the entrance of a temple with the Poojary in attendance, and an elderly unhinged woman praying to God for his sake. When he wakes, the Poojary tells him that the woman, known as "Pagli" (madwoman) is his very own mother, his father was a farmer, Ram Singh, who died of shock when his land was taken away by Balram and his men. Shortly thereafter Pagli passes away, and Hariya swears to take back his land from Balram. A wily Balram transfer this land in his nephew, Balraj's name, who is known to be a close friend of Hariya's with hopes of creating a misunderstanding between the two friends. When Balraj returns home he accepts this land from his uncle and decides to oppose Hariya with all his might, especially when he finds out that the love of his life, Sharda, is living with Hariya.

Janki lives a poor lifestyle in a small village consisting of her dad, Bhervi Prasad and her mom. She meets and falls in love with her school-teacher, Ramcharan, and both want to get married. Ramcharan's brother is opposed to this marriage as Bhervi is unable to pay any dowry, nevertheless the marriage does take place, but the couple are turned out of Kalicharan's house, and instead go to live with Ramcharan's friend, Ashok Mishra.

Dr. Anand practices under Dr. Rehman, who testified for him during a criminal trial for malpractice which resulted in the death of the husband of Rani Sahiba (Moon Moon Sen). Soni has fallen in love with Dr. Anand, but Dr. Anand has strong reservations against her, due to her background.

He dislikes the rich woman his father wants him to marry, and runs away from home. He meets Mala and both fall in love with each other. Kishore wants Mala to marry him, but Mala will only marry when their respective families approve of them, so Kishore has to come up with a scheme to pull wool over his money-minded father - which he does - with hilarious results.

Mukesh has his eyes set on the good life, but unknown to Jyoti he is already married to Geeta (Sarika), whom he abandoned with a child when he found out she was Anpadh (illiterate). Dr. Gupta has an accident one night, injuring a woman named Geeta and brings her home to recuperate. He teaches her how to mingle with high society, dress and eat properly, and ensures the education of her son. In return for his decency and compassion, Jyoti prepares to marry Dr. Gupta. When her father arrives for the festivities, he recognizes Mukesh.

Balraj (Dharmendra), affectionately called Raj, by his elder brother (Nana Palsikar) and sister Vija (Madhumati), is a student in college in the arts semester. Raj reluctantly does so, and thus acquires residence with the Rai family. Eventually Mrs. Rai takes a liking to Raj, so does Shanti. Shanti finds out Raj and her dad had lied to the family about Raj's marital status, she confronts Raj, and he readily admits that he lied.
