Based on the four-panel comic strip that follows the lives of a group of high school students and teachers, this anime features a compilation of comedic vignettes during a typical day in class over the course of three years.

Ousai Academy is a former all-girls private high school which has recently been integrated for both genders. Takatoshi Tsuda is pushed into becoming the vice-president of the student council, where he is the lone male member surrounded by three beautiful girls.

An ordinary high school boy fails to get into any private academy except one — which happens to be populated by supernatural creatures disguised as humans. To survive, he has to pretend that he is one of them and blend in.

A teacher takes all aspects of life, word and culture in the most negative light possible.

Although there are still traces of the brief period he became a vampire, third-year high school student Koyomi Araragi is human again. He happens upon others with their own supernatural problems and finds that he can empathize. Koyomi becomes involved in their lives, seeking to help them and occasionally asking for advice from Meme Oshino, the homeless man who helped him become human again.
