Ramadan is a poor young employee who wants to marry his fiancée Alia but can't afford it. He plans to steal and hide the employees' salary bag, then turn himself in and serve his sentence so that he can get married after. Upon his release, he finds out that another gang stole the money bag.

After obtaining a divorce from his second wife Emily, Roy Tappan marries Dora Carson, who has just divorced her husband. Left poor with two children, Emily marries Walter Heath, a former suitor, then discovers that she cannot live with her new husband because the divorce is not legal in her home state.
