Udhayakumar and Vasanthi are collegemates and they fall in love. But soon he comes to know that she is engaged to be married. After he moves to Chennai and finds a job as a reporter at a magazine. He tries to fight for social change. In the process , he unknowingly gets to know a group of unsavoury characters who promise to help him in his goals. They frame him up. One day Udhaya is arrested for a crime involving a terrorist plot which he is not responsible. The movie is about how Vasanthi fights to prove his innocence and to get him out from behind bars.

Sivaraman, an honest government clerk, and his wife Lakshmi, belong to a middle-class family and they have two children. Anja Singam Marudupandi, a corrupted politician, moves into a new house near Sivaraman's house. Marudupandi's life style influences Lakshmi and she tries to ape him by buys luxurious items on installments. This puts pressure on Sivaraman and he takes a loan from his office peon but the police arrests him for corruption. He later finds a job in a brandy company with Marudupandi's recommendation.

Prabhakaran travels all the way from Tamil Nadu to Kolkata for a purpose. He takes up a job in a college and meets Aishwarya. Sameera is already facing an issue with Biju (Kabir Duhan Singh). Varala Babu is now left with a responsibility to save his friend and loved one from Biju.

Gajendra is the remake of Telugu film Simhadri and was later dubbed in Hindi as Return of Khuda Gawah. Gajendra (Vijayakanth), an orphan, is adopted and grows up under Azhagarsamy's (Sarath Babu) family care. Azhagarsamy considers him like his own son. Kasthuri (Flora), Azhagarsamy's granddaughter, falls in love with Gajendra. Gajendra takes of a mentally ill girl called Indhu (Laya). The rest of the story is about why he took care of her.

The lead character Raman (Dileep), is an employee in a rice mill in Pune. He used to carry the rice to the mill for processing on a bicycle. The formal engagement ceremony takes place and arrangements are made for the wedding to take place soon. The heavily indebted Nawab does not realize that soon he will find Anwar in the company of a lowly courtesan, Najma; and pressure will be brought on him to get Husna to marry wealthy Munne Raja - who is all set to auction the former's mansion as well as belongings.

After completing his medical studies, Gopal (Rajendra Kumar) takes a break and goes on holiday in Kashmir. There he meets with Usha (Sadhana) and both fall in love with each other. Back home, Gopal has a close friend, Ramesh (Feroze Khan), whose dad (Brahm Bhardwaj) wants him to marry Usha as an arranged marriage. Ramesh likes Usha and is willing to marry her. In the meantime, Gopal finds out that Ramesh is going to be married to Usha and decides not to pursue his romance with Usha. When Ramesh and Gopal's sister, Sarla (Nazima) convince Gopal that Usha only loves him, he reveals a dark secret to them, which may convince them that he is not right for Usha.

Jayakrishna is a dark-skinned guy who falls head over heels on Deepu but keeps his feelings to himself. As time passes by, a gang in his college beats him up and this issue brings Deepu closer to him. Slowly the friendship turns into love and this does not go well with Deepu’s brother Rama Raju. The National Gallery in London has flooded, and senior curator Quentin Lester has a dramatic solution. He proposes that the entire collection of priceless paintings should be removed from London and stored in an abandoned slate mine inside a Welsh mountain, as they were during the Second World War. Soon after Quentin is settled in North Wales admittedly more at home in a cave among his paintings than he is with other people he unwittingly sets in motion a series of events that wake up this sleepy, charming town. The story focuses on five friends at the Madras Institute of Technology, who want to remain friends and hope to join the same company after graduation. On the train in the journey back, Prabhu, one of the friends, and Ilango's wife Eashwari meet each other. Prabhu falls in love with Eashwari without realizing who she is.
