Movie is about a retired master thief Keluvashan and his dearest disciple Kallan Benny. Once a young man came to see Keluvashan and expressed his wish to study the tricks and secrets of theft.

Poovalli Induchoodan (Mohanlal) is sentenced for six years prison life for murdering his classmate. Induchoodan, the only son of Justice Maranchery Karunakara Menon (Thilakan) was framed in the case by Manapally Madhavan Nambiar (Narayanan Nair) and his crony DYSP Sankaranarayanan (Bheeman Raghu) to take revenge on idealist judge Menon who had earlier given jail sentence to Manapally in a corruption case. The story begins with Induchoodan released and his father & mother coming to stay with him.

Appukuttan receives a letter, for a job offer for his brother who is a good kalari fighter, to do some rogue work for a swami in another town. Appukuttan goes to the town with the letter and pretends to be his brother, in order to get the job and provide money for his poor family. There he falls in love with the swami's daughter which leads to trouble later.

After the eloped young lady is brought home, and it is proven that the two friends were not involved in planning the elopement, they are allowed to go. Kayal travels to Kanyakumari to find the guy who loved her. The rest of the film tells of how they united, after many struggles.

After the passing away of her parents, Simran Malhotra lives a wealthy lifestyle with her uncle, Rajendra. She has always won beauty pageants during her college days, and when an opportunity arises, she enters her name in a local beauty contest.
