This drama serial consists of 30 episodes, and was screened on every weekday night at 9:00 pm. Being the mid-year Channel 8 blockbuster of 2009, it was the first Channel 8 drama to be fully filmed in HD. Despite being touted as the 2009 blockbuster of the year and featuring many established actors and actresses like Zoe Tay, Li Nanxing and Fann Wong, the show's reception was lukewarm at best. Many viewers faulted the serial for improbable casting and for a lack of originality in certain parts of the scripting. The series also came under harsh criticism for being overly melodramatic. However, the performance of newcomers such as Jerry Yeo, who played an antagonist for the first time, were widely praised.

The One: Making a Music Star
The One: Making a Music Star is an American reality television series that aired in July 2006 on ABC in the United States, and CBC Television in Canada. The show was hosted by George Stroumboulopoulos, the host of CBC's The Hour. It was advertised as being superior to American Idol and Rock Star with the twist that contestants "live together in a fully functioning music academy", with their actions documented similar to the Big Brother format. Reportedly the most expensive summer series in the history of the ABC network, its first episode, on July 18, 2006, scored the lowest audience ever for a premiere episode on a major U.S. broadcast network, with an estimated 3.08 million viewers. Subsequent episodes had even fewer viewers. The series was cancelled after two weeks with the final results undecided on July 27, 2006. The show's website proclaimed "there are no plans for additional episodes".
Happy Prince
Zi Le (Romeo Tan) suffers from Tourette syndrome. As a child, his father passed away and his mother ran away, leaving him homeless and destitute. Da Wei (Ian Fang) takes pity on Zi Le and convinces his mother, An Qi (Ling Ling Pan), to take the latter in. Despite all his misfortunes, Zi Le always has a cheerful disposition, and An Qi named him Happy Prince. Zi Le learned baking from An Qi and eventually becomes good at it, even opening his own bakery with Da Wei. He also reunites with his childhood sweetheart Yu Wen (Paige Chua). His mother, Bi Qiu (Yun Xiang), suddenly returns to reunite with him. But all is not well when he discovers that Bi Qiu harbours an ulterior motive. When the bakery gets into trouble and Bi Qiu absconds with Zi Le's money, the Happy Prince finally breaks down - Can Zi Le stand against adversity one more time and continue to pursue his dreams?
