A Yankee Go Getter

Popular action heroine Neva Gerber played the dual roles of Lucia and Vera Robilant in this low-budget silent melodrama produced by Benjamin F. Wilson, Gerber's frequent collaborator. Two almost identical women claim ownership to a pocketbook found by author turned adventurer Barry West (James Morrison). Barry is hired by nefarious Nicholas Lanza (Joseph W. Girard) to marry heiress Lucia, who surprisingly turns out to be one of the claimants. Meanwhile, Lucia's lookalike sister Vera is plotting to install herself as Lucia and claim the inheritance. After the wedding, Barry discovers a secret passage and finds the kidnapped Lucia. The villains are brought to justice and Barry and Lucia can finally plan a future together.

The Sunshine will explore the ultimate universal question how and why people get prepared to risk everything. The movie will tell the story of human struggle and not just merely make a political statement. Director Leena Manimekalai says, The Sunshine is unique and personal because it has the autobiographical touch of her friend and writer Shobasakthi.

The Secret Land

This documentary, filmed entirely by military photographers, recounts the U.S. Navy's 1946-47 expedition to Antarctica, known as Operation High Jump. The expedition was under the overall command of Admiral Richard E. Byrd, no stranger to the Antarctic. This was a large undertaking involving 13 ships and over 4000 thousand men. The fleet departed from Norfolk, Virginia traveling through the Panama canal and then southward to their final destination. The trip through the ice pack was fraught with danger and forced the submarine that was part of the fleet to withdraw. The trip was a success meeting all of its scientific goals.
