Arima Kousei won numerous piano competitions while under the strict watch of his mother. He was known as the human metronome during that time. Since the death of his mother, Kousei has been unable to hear the sound of his piano. He then meets Miyazono Kaori through childhood friend Sawabe Tsubaki. Kaori plays the violin and has a free sprit. Since meeting her, Kousei is able to face the piano again. Meanwhile, Kaori holds a secret.

A girl mysteriously receives advice from her future self and as a result her group of friends, along with a newly arrived, troubled classmate, learn how to be better friends and a better community.

When she was a middle school student, Futaba Yoshioka liked Kou Tanaka who was unlike the other boys and quite gentle. Kou Tanaka then moved away and they lost contact. Takashi Hayama is a third year high school student. He falls in love with Azusa Oribe at first sight and they begin to date. One day, Azusa tells Takashi "people who meet me, forget about me several hours later." Takashi doesn't believe Azusa, but by chance he realizes that he forgot about Azusa. So he won't forget Azusa, Takashi begins to leave a note for himself and Azusa.

Satoshi, who is a high school junior, is doing something against the rules. He is forming a band. Joining him is Rin. They nonetheless perform at the school's cultural festival live in front of their fellow students. There is a mishap and Satoshi travels back in time to the moment when he met Rin.

After the Rain: Wish in a Pocket, the live-action spin-off web miniseries based on the live-action film of Jun Mayuzuki's After the Rain manga, on Wednesday. The new miniseries focuses on the relationship between the characters Takashi Yoshizawa and Yui Nishida, who are supporting characters in the original story. The series maintains the same cast as the film. Hiroki Kazama is directing the series.
