In Chile, during the 60´s, the son of a poor single teenage girl turns out to be a gifted painter. The man to discover his talent is the owner of the drugstore that lies in the outskirts of the small rural town, next to the railroad. He himself is an amateur painter who will try to make the boy into a great artist, like all the ones in his art books. From the pharmacists point of view in his old age, unfolds the story of this young boy who could have become a great art genius, had he not disappeared at the age of 13, along with all his works, on September 11th 1973, the day of the coupe d´état.

For this staging it has more than 20 artists of the new generation, all of them possessing a great talent and very recognized in their field, exhibiting a lively, brilliant show, full of strength and energy. The dance, composed of 8 excellent dancers is presented with its varied samples of the traditions acquired over the years and its use of new trends such as jazz and contemporary. The cante is represented by 2 portentous cantaores who interpret the compositions and arrangements of Chano Domínguez, internationally recognized Spanish pianist and several times nominated for the Grammy. 4 musicians of great level complete the music scene.

This lighthearted 1 hour and forty minute musical-comedy was written by its Director, Chano Urueta and was first released on May 20, 1948. Its female lead, is a Cuban-born beauty with the stage name of Ninion Seviilla. She also became one of the original "Rumberas", who made this genre of dance musicals so popular with audiences during the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema. In essence, she was the Latina Jennifer Gray, doing the "dirty dancing" moves of her day. Unlike herself however, the actress's male counterpart, Ramon Armengod rose to fame in the place where he was born and raised. This Island girl and native Mexican boy put their considerable talents, good looks and physical chemistry to good use with the other attractive cast members, which include Emma Roldan, Jose Pulido and Aurora Walker.

One story, one script, one cast, one location, two languages. We shot this film twice, one take in English second take in Spanish so we ended up with a unique film experience, just pick a language. A love story that crosses borders. This film has been dedicated tot he 'Dreamers' in the US, that feel in between cultures and countries. Pablo is a first generation Mexican/American born in the United States, his parents gave him a great education and family life as they assimilated into the American lifestyle. His parents planned on returning to Mexico to retire but after the death of Pablo's mother their dream of returning to their beloved country died with her. Pablo's father vowed to show Pablo the roots of his heritage and sends his son to Mexico to their family's Tequila factory in hopes he will understand and appreciate his heritage. Little did he know that "One Night in Mexico" would change his son's life forever.
