Screened on ITV, Saturday nights throughout the autumn and winter of 1978. A total of 12 episodes were broadcast between 7 October and 31 December 1978, with an additional highlights show and a further one off special on 4 April 1980. Despite a huge budget and big name guest stars it was poorly received and was broadly unsuccessful, with Forsyth's former big hit The Generation Game (hosted then by Larry Grayson) winning higher audience figures.

The story takes place between the 1920s and 1950s in Greater São Paulo. Going through historical moments, such as the Week of Modern Art, the Revolution of 1924, the economic crisis of 1929 and the Vargas Era, there is the story of Yolanda Penteado, a young woman from a traditional family of São Paulo's high society, who arouses admirations to go through. She had never been easily involved with any other admirer until she meets Martim, a young medical student who catches her eye. However, he was an advocate of the anarchist movement, causing disapproval of Yolanda's mother, Guiomar, but the two will fight to get together, even with the disapproval of the family.

João Medeiros is an internationally renowned photographer who suffers an attack in Prague, when he happens to photograph a Nazi leader who was in the middle of secret plans. In his last moments on Earth, his life is saved by the angel Rafael, sent by the highest heavenly bodies to offer him a new chance. The angel warns the photographer that he will only have six months to live to solve his problems with his family, neglected since he abandoned everything for the profession - including solving his situation with ex-wife Naná, who now lives with the profiteer Tarsus, and get along with his two daughters. Virginia has become a renowned stylist, but blames her father for the leg problem caused by an accident she suffered as a teenager and ended her ballet career. Duda, on the other hand, developed obsessive-compulsive disorder after her son Kiko disappeared years before, putting her marriage to Maurício in a long crisis.

Marido En Alquiler is a Spanish-language telenovela produced by United States-based television network Telemundo Studios, Miami and Brazilian Rede Globo. It is a remake of the Brazilian telenovela, Fina Estampa, although the working title for the project was Reina Madre. Sonya Smith and Juan Soler star as the protagonists, marking the latter's debut with Telemundo after signing an exclusivity agreement with the network in 2013, with Maritza Rodríguez and Miguel Varoni star as the main antagonists.

Casseta & Planeta, Urgente!

Casseta & Planeta is a Brazilian group of comedians who run a TV show named Casseta & Planeta Urgente, broadcast by Rede Globo. The humour featured on the show is mostly satirical, relating to religious or ethical groups, and minorities. The group founded a company called Toviassu Produções Artísticas, whose name is an acronym composed of syllables from the phrase "Todo viado é surdo" – "Every gay is deaf"; which is the ending of a widely known Brazilian practical joke. Each one of the seven members has a specific function within the company. They present their TV show at Rede Globo and publish a website and many books, among other products, for example the "Machobol". Originally a magazine named Casseta Popular and a humour newspaper called O Planeta Diário, the two teams joined forces and were hired by Rede Globo to become writers for the network's comedy shows, starting with TV Pirata in 1988. A few years later, they starred in their own show.

The Wright Stuff

The Wright Stuff is a British television chat show, hosted by Matthew Wright, and airing on Channel 5 each weekday morning from 9:15 to 11:10am. The series characterises itself as "Britain's brightest daytime show", which "gives ordinary people the chance to talk and comment on everything from the invasion of Iraq to social, emotional and even sexual issues back at home", as well as featuring "showbiz stars and media commentators". The Wright Stuff has been nominated as "Best Daytime Programme" at both the Royal Television Society and the National Television Awards. The show first aired on 11 September 2000 and was created at Anglia Television who produced it for two years until their takeover by Granada. It is now produced by Princess Productions who also produced the short-lived The Vanessa Show.

Força de um Desejo is a Brazilian telenovela produced by Globo TV and was shown in the schedule of 18 hours between May 10, 1999 and January 29, 2000, in 226 chapters. It was written by Gilberto Braga and as collaborators with Alcides Nogueira Marques, Lilian Garcia, Eliane Garcia, Philip Miguez and Mark Silver and directed by Mauro Mendonça Filho, Carlos Araújo, Fabricio Mamberti and João Camargo, with production of the core Marcos Paulo. Featured Malu Mader, Fábio Assunção, Cláudia Abreu, Marcelo Serrado, Selton Mello, Nathália Timberg, Lavínia Vlasak, Isabel Fillardis and Denise Del Vecchio in leading roles.

It was written by Aguinaldo Silva with help of Angela Carneiro, Maria Helena Nascimento, Felipe Miguez, Fernando Rebello and Marilia Garcia. The telenovela was directed by Marcos Schechtman, Alexandre Avancini and Moacyr Goes with the general direction of Ricardo Waddington, Marcos Schechtman and core Ricardo Waddington and Daniel Filho. It was played by TV Globo International in 2007 with a total of 140 chapters. There were 130 episodes of the version shown on Portuguese television. Featured José Wilker, Glória Pires, Irene Ravache, Letícia Spiller, Patrícia França, Ângelo Antônio, Luana Piovani, Tarcísio Filho, Vanessa Lóes, Nívea Maria, Betty Faria and Rodrigo Santoro in lead roles in the plot.

A Praça é Nossa

A Praça é Nossa is a Brazilian comedy show broadcast by SBT. It was created in 1956 by Manuel de Nóbrega, with the name of A Praça da Alegria. It is based using a simple and practical scenario: a bench in a square garden, where several characters pass through. It debuted on television in 1957 on channel TV Paulista, being led by its creator until the beginning of 1970s. Until then the attraction already shifted by TV Record and TV Rio. After a while off the air it was broadcast again at 1977-78 by Rede Globo, this time by Luís Carlos Miele. In 1987 the program was revived at Rede Bandeirantes with the title Praça Brasil, presented by Manuel's son Carlos Alberto de Nóbrega. After four episodes, Carlos Alberto moved to SBT, where he set up a new program with the same format: A Praça é Nossa. The comedy debuted in 7 May 1987. The show has remained on the air since its debut. Actor Clayton Silva was a series regular from 1987 until 2013.

Os Trapalhões

Os Trapalhões was a Brazilian comedy group and also a Brazilian television series created by Wilton Franco. Its members were Dedé Santana, Zacarias, Mussum and their leader Didi Mocó, that was played by Renato Aragão. The name Trapalhões is derived from the Portuguese verb atrapalhar, which means the opposite of helping, to do something the wrong way or to Those that confuse. The name is translated "Tramps" in English DVD subtitles. It was aired by Rede Globo from 1977 to 1999. On March 18, 1990, Zacarias died due to respiratory failure, but the group and the series didn't come to an end until July 29, 1994, when Mussum died due to an unsuccessful heart transplant.

Live From Her Majesty's

Live from Her Majesty's was a Sunday night live variety show which was produced by London Weekend Television for the ITV network and ran from 1982 to 1988. It was broadcast live from Her Majesty's Theatre in London and was very much in the tradition of earlier variety spectacles such as Sunday Night at the London Palladium. The series was presented by Jimmy Tarbuck, produced by the then Head of Light Entertainment at LWT David Bell and directed by Alasdair Macmillan. In its day, the programme attracted a large audience and regularly featured in the TV top ten. A further series of six shows followed in 1986 from London's Piccadilly Theatre, airing simply as Live From the Piccadilly. 1987 witnessed yet another change of venue with a further three series airing as Live From the Palladium until the programme's eventual cancellation in 1988. During the 15 April 1984 show, comedian Tommy Cooper died after suffering a massive heart attack with the audience thinking that it was a joke.

TV Colosso

TV Colosso was a Brazilian children's television series produced by Rede Globo, that began on April 19, 1993, and finished on January 3, 1997. The show utilized puppets, body puppets, remote-controlled animatronics and bluescreen puppets. It stars a group of working dogs in a TV station that struggle to put her TV shows on air. The show presented "Jornal Colossal"; "Clip-Cão"; "Pedigree", a parody of Rede Globo's soap operas; "As Aventuras do Super-Cão"; "Olimpíadas de Cachorro"; "Acredite Se Puder" satirizing the Ripley's Believe It or Not! ; "ColosShow"; "Asfalto Quente"; "Aprendendo Prá Cachorro"; "CapaShow"; and others. The show was created by Luiz Ferré, a graphic artist, who also created its characters; and directed by J. B. de Oliveira, famous for Rede Globo's hits No Limite and Big Brother Brasil. The puppets were created by Criadores e Criaturas, Ltda. and made by Roberto Dornelles from Grupo 100 Modos de Teatro de Bonecos. It was a big hit on Brazil and worldwide, but was cancelled due to intense production costs. In 2009, the show's return in April of the same year was discussed by the producer, but not happened. Also in that year, it was reported that an DVD box set featuring the show's most important episodes and a Broadway-inspired musical are in works.

Jornal Nacional

Jornal Nacional is a Brazilian Emmy-winning primetime news program aired by Rede Globo since September 1, 1969. It was the first news program broadcast live by a television network throughout Brazil.

It was based on what happened in the city of Formiga, in Minas Gerais, where women work for large clothing manufacturers in the country.
